Maybe it needs a slight bit more meat on the right hand leg underside... only a tiny bit.

But remember everyone Fox is still tweaking the picture. Its a work in progress.

Women have bigger hips and have thicker leg muscles naturally.

Its a work in progress. Mainly I asked Fox to thin her tum for me, because I didn't like her looking fat, which was kind of the case before.

Fox does know what he is doing you know.

I think that would all depend on the woman in question. What looks "right" for one person, might be "too fat" or "too thin" for another.

Now my original sketch, was very close to my initial reference poses from DAZ3D, the proportions were technically more correct. However, when you do a side by side comparison, I completely agree with RTS, she did indeed look a bit plump.

As I think you'll agree, the second sketch, is far closer to Luna's in-game appearance. As for her ass, she's certainly no J-Lo, but to be fair, rangers are lithe creatures in game too.

Actually, I think the proportions of her legs are fine, it's the FoW armour making her lower legs look odd. Comparing it to the screenshots, I think the boot panels should extend further upwards and the details on her left leg need to be squeezed in a bit. At the moment, it's giving the appearance of very long thighs, and very short calfs and shins.

In reference to the shins being too short, what i meant was that Anet uses elongated proportions (see the neck) compared to "normal" humans, so youd need to elongate the limbs to compensate and match said proportions.

when i was drawing my warrior based off a poser render, i kept using the in game model to reference distance, and nothing matched up, the torso was long, the arms were long, etc.

That explains it then. From what I've seen from DAZ/Poser art, DAZ women usually have not-very-muscled legs and arms. The reason I suggested more meat was because rangers and warriors are likely pretty strong ladies with runners legs, even if their tummies are lean. So the leg you have is not anatomically wrong, it's that when I see tough women, my instinctive reaction is "need muscle!".

Since I've already made an a** out of myself by giving un-asked for advice *cough*, here's another thought for future drawings. Pretend you have a quiver and reach back for an arrow. Where is your elbow? When I do that, my elbow points off to the right in front of me, not off behind me as you've drawn the armband and wrist thingie to indiciate. I *can* hold my arm as you've drawn, but it is awkward and inefficient.

I'll shut up now. Your art is good, and as RTSFirebat said, you know what you are doing.

Well Foxeye, there's no need to shut up on my account, I for one don't think you've made an ass of anyone. I'm perfectly open to criticism, and welcome it, if all anyone ever says is "ooh that's cool", it might inflate my ego a bit, but work itself won't get better

I don't want to sound overly dismissive of some of the criticisms raised, many of them are perfectly well founded, it's just, I'm not always going to agree is all ^^

I have a hard time holding my ellbow backwards like that but im badly streched. The girls i meet during gymnastics on the other hand would have no problems with that (they are so damn flexible)

first bash at a background sketch (with a quick "shaded in 2 minutes" wash over).

Now I just have to squeeze in the spider pet somewhere...

Greyfox, im loving your art, as is everyone else here, but i have just afew questions when you have some free time!

1.What program are you using? Photoshop?

2. What is your typical order of actions for each of your art pieces, like, Do You Do colouring then light/shades onto that? or do you have some Predrawn-in Lighting?

I really could make those questions more underestandable, but i cant get my fingers round some of the longer more descriptive words....Anyhoo
Thanks!

1. Program is Photoshop (downloaded CS3 Beta the other day, it's rather nice ), as I've said elsewhere, I'm also quickly falling in love with Daz3D for designing poses, judgeing perspective, foreshortening etc.

2. Typically, I start with a rough sketch, done fairly quickly (an hour or so... give or take). If the sketch is to my liking (and the person commissioning it), I'll then start to add more detail to the sketch, untill I feel it's ready to be "painted". When it comes to the colouring, I tend to block in the large areas with an "under paint", that is, on layers underneath the sketchs. At this stage, I worry about only the most rudimentary lighting. Once the main colours are blocked in, I then move in to the actual painting. This is done on layers above the sketch, so that it will eventually cover most of the black and white lines. The majority of the shading, and things like character and item lighting are usually added at this stage. This painting stage is by far the longest. Once that's out of the way, I'll usually tinker with the overall "feel" of the picture, adjusting the global lightness, colour curves etc on their own seperate adjustment layers. Also, at this point, it's possible to add extra shading and lighting by masking parts of these new layers.

Amazing Fox, its just the kind of background I had in mind

Only think I can suggest is extending the image slightly on the right side in order to side the spider pet in.

Hi Grey!

I didn't realise you had your own personal fan club! Some fantastic artwork mate, and your usual laid back response to criticism is a credit to you (I think being on vent with your guildies certainly thickens the skin ).

Amazing work

See you in-game
